The World Meteorological Organization warned that the rapid development of the El Niño phenomenon between July and September will increase heatwaves and extreme weather phenomena around the world in the coming months.
It confirmed that the phenomenon will contribute to raising average global temperatures, with expectations of drought in the Americas and Southeast Asia, against higher-than-average rainfall and possible floods in East Africa, calling on countries to take early action.
