Al-Namas Governorate in the Asir region is one of the most prominent summer tourist destinations in the Kingdom, characterized by its moderate climate and mountainous nature that combines rain, fog, and dense forests, along with panoramic views and heritage and natural sites that attract visitors from all over the Kingdom.

During the summer, Al-Namas maintains its cold and rainy atmosphere, as clouds embrace the peaks of the Sarawat Mountains, and waves of fog cover the highlands, roads, and parks, giving its visitors a unique tourist experience that has strengthened its position as a suitable destination for nature lovers, hiking, photography, and enjoying the rural and mountainous ambiance.

The 'Fog Walkway' stands out as one of the most famous tourist attractions in the governorate and the most popular among hikers, located within the tourist strip of Al-Namas at an altitude of over 2,400 meters above sea level, overlooking the slopes of the Sarawat Mountains and the Tihama plains, in a natural scene where forests and highlands intertwine with moving clouds and thick fog.

The walkway extends for more than seven kilometers, giving visitors the opportunity to practice walking in a moderate, cool atmosphere, especially during rainfall or fog formation, while its wide views of the slopes and western plains make it a favorite spot for photography enthusiasts and nature observation.

The walkway includes paved pedestrian paths, seating and rest areas, and a number of supporting facilities and services, in addition to food and beverage carts, coffee corners, and outlets for productive families displaying popular foods, local products, and handicrafts, contributing to enriching the visitors' experience and supporting the economic activities of the governorate's residents.

The walkway's appeal increases during rainfall periods, when clouds cover its paths and visibility levels drop in some areas, making visitors feel as if they are walking among the clouds, while greenery covers its sides and surrounding slopes, and rainwater flows between rocks and trees, creating natural scenes that renew with changing weather conditions.

The tourist attractions in Al-Namas are not limited to the Fog Walkway; the governorate also includes a number of parks, forests, and sites overlooking the Tihama plains, in addition to heritage villages and palaces that embody the ancient architectural style in the Sarawat Mountains and narrate aspects of the region's history, the lives of its inhabitants, and their social customs.
