The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) predicted in its weather report today (Wednesday) thunderstorms accompanied by hail and active winds over parts of Makkah, Al-Baha, Asir, and Jazan, extending to parts of Najran. Meanwhile, weather will remain hot to extremely hot in the Eastern Province and parts of Riyadh and Madinah, with active, dust-stirring winds continuing across those areas as well as parts of the Northern Borders, Al-Jawf, Tabuk, and the eastern portions of the western and southwestern highlands of the Kingdom.

The report indicated that surface winds over the Red Sea will be northwesterly to westerly in the northern section and northwesterly to southwesterly in the central section at speeds of 5 to 45 km/h, and southeasterly to southwesterly at speeds of 12 to 34 km/h, reaching up to 50 km/h with the formation of thunderclouds in the southern section. Wave heights will range from 1 to 2 meters in the northern section; from 1 to 2 meters, reaching over 2.5 meters during early morning hours in the central section; and from 0.5 to 1.5 meters, exceeding 2 meters with thundercloud formation in the southern section. Sea conditions will range from light to moderate, becoming rough in the central section as well as during thundercloud formation in the southern section.

Meanwhile, wind movement over the Arabian Gulf will be northwesterly to northeasterly at speeds of 15 to 30 km/h, with wave heights ranging from 0.5 to 1.5 meters, and sea conditions ranging from light to moderate.

The wave height will range from one to two meters in the northern part, and from one to two meters, exceeding two and a half meters during the early morning hours in the central part, and from half a meter to one and a half meters, exceeding two meters with the formation of thunderstorm clouds in the southern part. The sea condition will be light to moderate waves, reaching choppy in the central part as well, with the formation of thunderstorm clouds in the southern part.

Meanwhile, the wind movement over the Arabian Gulf will be northwesterly to northeasterly at a speed of 15 - 30 km/h, with wave heights ranging from half a meter to one and a half meters, and the sea condition will be light to moderate waves.
