JEDDAH — High dust-stirring surface winds are forecast to affect much of Saudi Arabia's western coast from July 16 to 25, according to the National Center for Meteorology (NCM).
According to an animated map from the NCM, dust-stirring winds will affect the coastal road from Yanbu to Jazan starting Thursday, July 16, through July 25.
The winds are also expected to push eastward into parts of the Makkah and Madinah regions, potentially reducing horizontal visibility to near zero.

Dust storms are a recurring summer hazard in Saudi Arabia, often causing hazardous driving conditions and respiratory health risks. Authorities typically advise residents to stay indoors and limit travel during such events. The extended forecast period suggests a prolonged weather pattern that may disrupt daily routines.
