Authorities in Poland today issued evacuation orders for residents in large areas of the country, due to warnings of storms, heavy rain, and power outages.

Local Radio Poland reported that the meteorological office issued a storm warning for most areas of central, eastern and southern Poland, with wind speeds expected to reach 90 kilometers per hour.

The authorities also urged residents to stay away from dangerous areas and prepare for power outages, while fire and emergency services recorded incidents of falling trees, road closures, and collapsed roofs.
