Heavy Rain, Floods and 48°C Heat: Weather Center Warns 7 Regions on Thursday
يشهد عدد من مناطق المملكة حالة من عدم الاستقرار الجوي الخميس، حيث تتوقع الأرصاد أمطاراً رعدية قد تسبب سيولاً في المرتفعات الجنوبية الغربية، مع رياح مثيرة للأتربة في الوسط والشرق، وتسجل الدمام أعلى حرارة بـ48 درجة.
The National Center of Meteorology forecast moderate to heavy thunderstorms, which may lead to flash floods, accompanied by hail showers and active winds, in parts of Jazan and Asir regions, with chances of light to moderate rain extending to include parts of Makkah, Al-Baha, and Najran, on Thursday.
The center explained that active winds stirring up dust and sand will affect parts of Madinah, Riyadh, Eastern Province, Northern Borders, and Al-Jawf regions, while maximum temperatures continue to rise in the eastern and central parts of the Kingdom.
The center revealed that the highest expected temperature is 48°C in Dammam, followed by 47°C in Riyadh, and 45°C in Buraidah, while Makkah records 42°C and Madinah 43°C.
Regarding the marine report, the center expected surface winds over the Red Sea to be northwesterly to westerly, at speeds ranging from 10 to 32 km/h in the northern part, and from 10 to 25 km/h in the central and southern parts, with a possibility of reaching 50 km/h in areas of rainy thunderclouds in the south, and wave heights ranging from half a meter to two and a half meters in the southern part.
As for the Arabian Gulf, northwesterly to northeasterly winds blow at speeds ranging from 15 to 30 km/h, with wave heights between half a meter and one and a half meters, and sea state ranging from light to moderate.
