Weather warns of thunderstorms, hail, and active winds in Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha
The National Center for Meteorology warned in its weather report of continued thunderstorms accompanied by hail showers and active winds in parts of the Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha regions, with this condition extending to the southern parts of the highlands of the Makkah region.
The report explained that maximum temperatures will remain high in parts of the Eastern Province and Riyadh regions, while active winds stirring up dust and sand affect parts of those areas, as well as parts of Makkah, Madinah, and Tabuk regions.
**Red Sea:**
The report indicated that surface wind movement over the Red Sea is northwesterly to westerly at speeds ranging from 12 to 38 km/h over the northern and central parts, and northwesterly to northeasterly at speeds of 10–28 km/h, reaching over 50 km/h with the formation of rainy thunderclouds over the southern part.
Wave height ranges between half a meter and one and a half meters over the northern and central parts, and from half a meter to one meter, reaching more than two meters with the formation of thunderclouds over the southern part. Sea state ranges from light to moderate waves north and central, and light to choppy south.
**Arabian Gulf:**
In the Arabian Gulf, surface winds are northwesterly to westerly at speeds of 15–40 km/h over the northern part, and northeasterly to northwesterly at speeds of 10–28 km/h over the central and southern parts. Wave height ranges between half a meter and one and a half meters over the northern part, and from half a meter to one meter over the central and southern parts. Sea state is light to moderate waves north, and light waves central and south.
