Thai authorities announced that 27 people died in a massive fire that broke out at a restaurant in the capital Bangkok, before firefighting teams managed to control the flames.

Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul confirmed that authorities have opened an official investigation into the cause of the fire, noting that the circumstances of the incident are still under investigation.

The Prime Minister added that all the injured have been taken to hospitals to receive necessary medical care.
