The death toll from monsoon rains and floods in Pakistan has risen to 43 with 177 injured, due to multiple incidents linked to heavy rains that swept across several regions of the country, according to data issued by disaster management authorities.

The Disaster Management Authority in Punjab province reported that the monsoon rains have claimed 21 lives and injured 154 others since the start of the season, noting that no deaths were recorded from flash floods or people being trapped in waterways.

In an official statement, the authority warned of the possibility of urban flooding and flash floods as heavy rains continue.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the Disaster Management Authority announced 22 killed and 23 injured due to collapses of roofs and walls of houses, in addition to incidents of flash floods in several areas.

The authority revealed that the rains caused damage to 37 houses, of which 8 were completely destroyed, while 29 others suffered partial damage.
