Al-Issa Inaugurates 4th ASEAN Scholars Council Meeting and Launches Arabic Language Project for Memorizers in Region
Makkah, Muharram 29, 1447 AH (June 15, 2026) – SPA. The Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, launched the fourth meeting of the ASEAN Scholars Council in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, in the presence of Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Malaysia's Grand Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Fuad bin Ali Fadhil, and Malaysian Minister of Religious Affairs Senator Dr. Datuk Zulkifli Hasan, as the host side. The meeting included rich participation from muftis and senior scholars of ASEAN countries. In the context of the council’s achievements for this year, it launched the Arabic language project for memorizers in the ASEAN region, while honoring the second batch of elite memorizers in the region, whose certifications were approved with the noble prophetic chain of transmission via the global virtual recitation platform of the Muslim World League.
