Al-Shibani meets advisor to Palestinian President
Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Hassan Al-Shibani met on Wednesday with advisor to the Palestinian President, Yasser Abbas, and his accompanying delegation in the capital Damascus.
The two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and discussed the latest regional developments, in addition to coordination and consultation serving common Arab causes, according to what the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates published on its official platforms.

The visit comes within the framework of ongoing political contacts between the two sides, after Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas made a visit to Damascus on April 18, 2025, which was his first since the change that Syria witnessed, and the second for a head of state since the new Syrian government assumed its duties.
During the visit, discussions covered "Syrian-Palestinian relations and their enhancement, facilitating the affairs of Palestinians in Syria, and discussing common threats," according to a Syrian government source quoted by AFP. The Palestinian President was accompanied on his visit by Secretary-General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization Hussein al-Sheikh, and member of the Executive Committee Ahmad Majdalani.

President Ahmad Al-Shara' also received on last April 29 a Palestinian delegation headed by Palestinian Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh, in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Al-Shibani, and from the Palestinian side: Speaker of the National Council Rouhi Fattouh, member of the Central Committee Samir al-Rifai, and advisor Wael Lafi.
During that meeting, ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples were discussed.
