Syrian Businessman Targeted Assassination Attempt Foiled
Activists reported that Syrian-American businessman Tariq Naimo was targeted in an assassination attempt in Damascus. According to circulating information, the attack was carried out by a person from the city of Qamishli.
The Sham Network website reported that the competent authorities managed to foil the attack and arrest the suspect in Damascus city.
Initial information indicates that businessman Tariq Naimo was unharmed in the incident, while the motives for the assassination attempt and the party behind it remain unknown.
Tariq Naimo is a Syrian Kurdish businessman residing in America and participated in the team of Syrians there who worked to repeal the Caesar Act, which had restricted the Syrian state.
The Director of Internal Security in Suwayda Governorate, Suleiman Abdul Baqi, expressed his solidarity with Tariq Naimo, congratulating him on surviving the assassination attempt and wishing him safety.
