Algerian President Begins Visit to Germany
Lasts two days and is expected to see the announcement of a strategic partnership and the signing of more than 30 agreements between the two countries

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Wednesday began an official visit to Germany that will last two days, expected to see the announcement of a strategic partnership and the signing of more than 30 agreements between the two countries.
The Algerian presidency said in a statement that Tebboune arrived in the capital Berlin at the invitation of his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
It added that the visit 'comes to strengthen the bonds of historical friendship and partnership between the two countries, and to consolidate the shared will of the two countries' leaders to give new momentum to bilateral cooperation relations.'
The Algerian presidency explained that the visit aims to expand these relations to 'broader horizons.'
The statement mentioned that the Algerian president will hold talks during the visit with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
It explained that the talks will focus on 'strengthening the historical ties between Algeria and Germany, and exploring ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields of common interest.'
They will also address 'reviving the dynamism of cooperation mechanisms and elevating them to broader strategic horizons.'
According to the same source, Tebboune will meet during the visit with members of the Algerian community residing in Germany 'to listen to their concerns and aspirations.'
On the sidelines of the visit, an Algerian-German economic forum will be held, with the presence of senior officials and participation of businessmen and investors from both countries.
The Algerian News Agency explained that 'the forum's work is expected to culminate in the announcement of a strategic partnership between the two countries and the signing of more than 30 agreements in several fields.'
It added that the agreements particularly include hydrocarbons, renewable energies, energy transition, pharmaceutical industry, manufacturing industry, and advanced technology.
