The Israeli army on Monday admitted to killing two Palestinians in two airstrikes it carried out on the Gaza Strip, claiming they belonged to the Islamic Jihad movement.
This came in a statement by the army, as it continues its daily violations of the ceasefire agreement in effect in the strip since October 10, 2025, which have resulted in Palestinian deaths and injuries.
The army said it killed Taher Ahmed Salem Abdel Wahed on Friday in a strike carried out based on intelligence from the General Security Service (Shin Bet).
It claimed that Abdel Wahed participated in the October 7 attack, stormed the Nova festival site, and took part in the kidnapping of Israeli Anbar Haiman.
The army added that it killed in another strike in the central strip Saleh Subhi Saleh al-Qatrawi, also claiming he belonged to the Islamic Jihad movement.
It alleged that al-Qatrawi attempted during the war to carry out plots against its forces near aid distribution centers belonging to the so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation in the southern strip.
The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation is a U.S.-backed entity supported by Israel and the United States, which began distributing aid through special centers outside the UN system in late May 2025, before ending its operations in November of the same year.
The United Nations rejected its work mechanism, considering it unsafe and inconsistent with the principles of humanitarian neutrality.
There was no comment from the Islamic Jihad movement on the Israeli allegations as of 17:30 GMT.
The Israeli army repeatedly announces killing Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, claiming they belong to Hamas or Islamic Jihad, while the same airstrikes result in the deaths of Palestinian civilians, including children and women.
According to data from the Gaza Strip Ministry of Health, Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement have resulted in 1,158 Palestinians killed and 3,756 injured as of Monday.
Since the start of the Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip on October 8, 2023, Israel has killed more than 73,000 Palestinians and injured over 173,000, in addition to widespread destruction affecting 90% of the civilian infrastructure.
