Eastern Province Prince Conveys Leadership's Condolences to Emir of Qatar on Death of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani

This visit comes within the framework of the strong fraternal relations linking Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, conveyed the condolences and sympathy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister -may God preserve them- to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, on the death of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani -may God have mercy on him-.

This came during the reception by the Emir of Qatar, his Deputy His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, the sons of the deceased, and members of the Al Thani family at the Lusail Palace in Doha today, for the Governor of the Eastern Province and the accompanying delegation, namely His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Minister of State and Member of the Cabinet; His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region; and His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior; in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Saad bin Mansour bin Saad, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Qatar; praying to God Almighty to envelop the deceased with His vast mercy, forgiveness, and pleasure, and to grant him a spacious paradise.

The conveying of condolences comes as a confirmation of the depth of relations between the two countries. The participation of senior officials in condolences is evidence of solidarity. Bilateral consultations are expected to continue in the coming period.
