The General Secretariat of the Arab League condemned the calls launched by Israeli settlement organizations to organize widespread incursions into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque coinciding with the so-called 'Destruction of the Temple' memorial, describing it as a dangerous escalation and a violation of the historical and legal status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Arab League affirmed, in a statement today, that these calls are an extension of Israeli policies aimed at imposing illegal facts in occupied Jerusalem, holding Israel, the occupying power, fully responsible for the repercussions of these violations. It called on the international community, especially the Security Council, the United Nations, and UNESCO, to take urgent action to stop these violations and ensure the protection of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Arab League reiterated its steadfast position supporting the rights of the Palestinian people, foremost of which is the establishment of their independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
