This came during a meeting between Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Eritrean counterpart Osman Saleh, where the talks focused on coordinating positions on issues of common concern. Egypt expressed full support for Eritrea in preserving its sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.

The two ministers exchanged views on developments in the Horn of Africa region. The Egyptian minister outlined Cairo's vision regarding developments in Sudan and Somalia, reaffirming Egypt's unwavering stance on maintaining security and stability in the Horn of Africa as a direct extension of Egyptian national security.

The Egyptian minister also emphasized support for national state institutions and preserving the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of regional states, rejecting any unilateral actions that would undermine state sovereignty or destabilize the region.
