This war on Iran does not cost America much; Iran's response is weak and hesitant, just to save face and show resilience against a ruthless enemy, while Iran suffers systematic destruction and rising casualties as US attacks continue.

Iran has no options against the US strikes other than sending missiles and drones to several GCC countries in retaliation, under the pretext that they host US military bases, while the Iranian aggression does not hit any of these bases but damages civilian facilities.

Most expectations are that Iran will accept the resumption of talks and avoid striking ships attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz, as it has no other options to avoid further disasters amid the ongoing US attacks.

Iran is now reaping the consequences of its misguided policies, losing the military power it built, and finding its proxies—whom it funded with money and weapons—falling one by one, without the ability to stop this hemorrhage of losses, after being besieged and reaching its current state of weakness.

Iran's problem was its insistence on becoming a nuclear state, its unwillingness to abandon its nuclear program, and its rejection of all proposed solutions. Today, its problems have multiplied: the Strait of Hormuz, which it must release its grip on, the US blockade, and sanctions, all making its future uncertain.

But notably, those whom Iran considers its friends have abandoned it; they did not step up to protect it from this inferno, leaving the US Central Command to continue striking military and civilian targets, with no voice heard from them or any rescue initiative.

Nor can we ignore that Israel has its finger on the trigger, fully prepared and ready to strike Iran, awaiting a signal from Trump or a mistake by Iran launching a drone or missile at Israel.
