«الشؤون الإسلامية» تنظّم دورة علمية لتأهيل أكثر من 120 إمامًا وخطيبًا في المالديف
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs organized a scientific course in Malé, Maldives, from July 12 to 14, 2026, qualifying over 120 imams and preachers, attended by the Saudi ambassador and Maldivian officials.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by the Religious Attaché at the Saudi Embassy in the Republic of India, in coordination with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Endowments of the Republic of Maldives, organized a foundational scientific course on the creed of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah in the Maldivian capital, Malé, from 26 to 28 Muharram 1448 AH, corresponding to July 12, 2026.
The organizers stated that the course saw the participation of more than 120 imams, preachers, muadhdhins, and students of knowledge of both genders, as part of the scientific and advocacy programs implemented by the Ministry outside the Kingdom to spread Islamic knowledge, establish the approach of moderation and balance, and promote tolerant Islamic values.
The organizers pointed out that the opening of the course was attended by the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of Maldives, Yahya bin Hassan Al-Qahtani, the Deputy Minister of Islamic Affairs and Endowments for Advocacy Affairs, Sheikh Muti' Ismail, the Deputy Minister for Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Haitham Mohamed, along with a number of officials from the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Endowments of the Republic of Maldives.
In the same context, the course covers a number of foundational topics in creed, most notably the oneness of Allah Almighty, belief in His names and attributes, reliance upon Him, and belief in divine decree and destiny, which contributes to raising the scientific level of participants and enhancing their role in spreading the correct Sharia approach.
Enhancing communication with Islamic communities
It is noteworthy that this course is the sixth implemented by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance in the Republic of Maldives, and the first during the year 1448 AH, as part of a series of scientific courses and qualification programs held by the Ministry in a number of countries around the world, affirming its mission to serve Islam and Muslims, spread the values of moderation and balance, and enhance communication with Islamic communities.
