Qatar announced on Sunday morning the death of its former Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani at the age of 74.
The Amiri Diwan said in a statement: "With hearts full of faith in God’s decree and destiny, the Amiri Diwan mourns the great patriot, the late, by God’s will, His Highness the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who passed away this morning of 27 Muharram 1448, corresponding to 12 July 2026, at the age of 74."
