The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, met today with the Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Johann Wadephul, on the sidelines of his official visit to Brussels.

The GCC stated that during the meeting, relations between the GCC and Germany were reviewed, in addition to discussing ways to enhance and develop them in various fields, serving common interests and strengthening prospects for cooperation between the two sides.

The two sides stressed the importance of continuing coordination and consultation and supporting efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability and de-escalation in the region.

In the same context, the two officials discussed the latest regional and international developments, especially the developments in the Middle East, emphasizing the importance of promoting peaceful solutions to crises, in a way that achieves security and prosperity for the peoples of the region.
