Bahrain condemns Iranian escalation against regional countries
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain's strong condemnation and denunciation of the repeated Iranian aggressions that targeted civilian and vital facilities in the Kingdom, the State of Kuwait, the State of Qatar, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, with missiles and drones, as a dangerous escalation threatening the safety of civilians and regional security and stability, and a flagrant violation of the rules of international law, the United Nations Charter, and the principles of good neighborliness.
The Ministry affirmed - according to the Bahrain News Agency "BNA" - the full solidarity of the Kingdom of Bahrain with the sister states, and its support for the right of states to take all legitimate measures to defend their sovereignty, security, and stability, and to protect citizens and residents on their territories, in accordance with the provisions of international law, Article (51) of the United Nations Charter, and the Common Defense Agreement of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the Kingdom of Bahrain's call to the international community, especially the Security Council, to take firm and deterrent measures to oblige Iran to cease its treacherous hostile acts, to ensure the security, safety, and freedom of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and to hold it fully responsible under international laws, the United Nations Charter, Security Council Resolution (2817), and Human Rights Council Resolution (1/61), in a way that enhances security, stability, peace, and sustainable development in the region and the world.
