Berri Calls for International Intervention to Stop 'Systematic Destruction'

Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri yesterday called for international intervention to stop 'systematic destruction' operations in the villages of Bint Jbeil and neighboring districts in southern Lebanon, urging the international community to act to de-escalate tensions in border areas.

The National News Agency in Lebanon quoted Berri as saying that 'the Israeli political level is promoting lies aimed at stirring discord among the nation's people,' stressing that 'these attempts will not succeed in achieving their goals.' The Lebanese Parliament Speaker emphasized that the people of the border villages 'will not compromise on their homeland under any circumstances,' affirming their adherence to their land and unity in the face of current developments.
