British Foreign Secretary David Lammy said in an interview with Sky News Arabia on Wednesday that Iran's proxies threaten the stability of the region.

Lammy added that his country does not want to see Lebanon turned into another Gaza, stressing the need to push for a diplomatic and political solution to this war.

Lammy explained that London is working closely with Washington 'to de-escalate tensions in the region.'

He continued, saying that progress in the region 'is linked to ending the war, the two-state solution, and achieving peace.'

He called for 'a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon and reaching a political solution.'

Regarding his opinion on the expected Israeli response to Iran after Tehran struck it with missiles, Lammy said, 'We are concerned about the outbreak of a wider war, and we are working with the United States to prevent that.'

He stressed calling on Israel 'to exercise restraint,' urging the need to prioritize diplomatic and political solutions.

Regarding his vision of the day after the Gaza war, Lammy explained that it is necessary to ensure that Israel is not subjected again to new attacks like those it faced on October 7 of last year.
