The foreign ministers of the Kingdom and Arab and Islamic countries condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli escalation at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque - the Noble Sanctuary, especially the continued mass incursions of settlers led by extremist Israeli ministers under the protection of Israeli police forces, the raising of the Israeli flag inside its courtyards, the police setting up two tents, and other provocative acts.

The colonial incursion into Al-Aqsa Mosque

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned in the strongest terms the widest colonial incursion in months, carried out on Thursday by more than 3,228 settlers into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, under tight protection from Israeli occupation forces, in violation of the existing historical and legal status.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry stressed that Al-Aqsa Mosque, in its entirety, is a pure place of worship for Muslims, that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territory, especially the city of Jerusalem, and that all procedures, measures, and practices are null and void, establishing no legal or historical right, and that all of them violate international law and United Nations resolutions, especially Security Council resolutions 476 and 478.

And it called on the international community to take practical and binding steps to stop these violations, ensure respect for the existing historical and legal status at Al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy sites, prevent any restrictions on the access of worshippers to their places of worship in the holy city, or the imposition of any new colonial facts by force, and enforce respect for the existing legal and historical status.
