IAEA 'Verifying' Reports of Strike Targeting Iranian Nuclear Plant Site
The UN's International Atomic Energy Agency said Sunday it is verifying reports that a site under construction for an Iranian nuclear power plant was hit by an overnight attack.

(CNN)--The UN's International Atomic Energy Agency said Sunday it is verifying reports that a site under construction for an Iranian nuclear power plant was hit by an overnight attack.
The agency said the Darkhovin nuclear power plant, located in southern Iran, is still in the 'very early stages' of construction, and the reported attack is unlikely to pose any radiological risk. It also called for military restraint around all nuclear facilities.
The agency added in a statement posted on X: 'The IAEA has been in contact with Iran regarding the reported reports and will provide further information as it becomes available.'
Iran's Atomic Energy Organization had earlier announced that the United States targeted the plant in the early hours of Sunday.
CNN has reached out to US Central Command (CENTCOM) for comment.
