Iran's Revolutionary Guard announced that it targeted the US command and control center in West Asia and a US air base in Jordan with 10 ballistic missiles, in response to the attacks launched by the United States against Iran.
A statement issued by the Revolutionary Guard on Thursday said the attack targeted the US base "Azraq" in Jordan.
The statement added that the US command and control center in West Asia and the US air base in Jordan were targeted with 10 ballistic missiles.
It indicated that if the United States repeats its attacks against Iran, other US bases in the region will be targeted.
Earlier on Thursday, the Jordanian army announced intercepting 8 missiles launched from Iran towards Jordanian territory.
On Wednesday evening, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced carrying out a series of attacks on Iran, a day after launching similar attacks in response to attacks that targeted three commercial ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz.
The British Maritime Trade Operations reported that three oil tankers were attacked while crossing the strait, causing minor damage, without disclosing their nationalities.
The Strait of Hormuz region periodically witnesses security tensions, against the backdrop of the war launched by the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28 last.
On June 18, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding, and continue difficult negotiations to reach a final agreement, mediated by Pakistan and Qatar.
