Iran's Chief Negotiator: War with America Will Not End with 'Iran's Surrender'
Iran's chief negotiator Muhammad Baqer Qalibaf stressed on Friday that the confrontation with the United States will not end with Iran's 'surrender', emphasizing that the Islamic Republic will 'defend itself' against any American violation of the memorandum of understanding on ending the war in the Middle East.
Qalibaf said during a meeting with an Indonesian official, as reported by ISNA: 'Of course, ending the war is a priority for the countries of the world, but everyone should know that this confrontation will never end with Iran's surrender.'

Memorandum of Understanding
He added after exchanging strikes with Washington this week: 'Whenever the Americans betray the understanding, we are fully ready to defend ourselves.' Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum of understanding in mid-June to end the war in the Middle East, mediated by Pakistan with Qatar playing a key role. The memorandum paved the way for negotiations aimed at reaching a final agreement within a 60-day period, which may be extended. After signing the memorandum, the two sides held one round of direct negotiations in Switzerland, in addition to indirect negotiations in Doha between technical teams. Qalibaf, who led his country's delegation in the Switzerland talks last month, said: 'During the negotiations, I was clear in informing the US Vice President (JD Vance) that we do not trust them. From my point of view, those who are able to negotiate with America are those who are ready for war.'
