Daily violence occurs in the West Bank, which Israel has occupied since 1967. At least 1,072 Palestinians, including children and a number of militants, have been killed by Israeli soldiers or settlers since the start of the Gaza war in 2023.

The Israeli army killed a young Palestinian man on Saturday in the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank. The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced in a brief statement the killing of the young man, Nour al-Din Kamal Hassan Fayyad, 34, by Israeli forces' fire.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said its teams in Jenin received a deceased young man "as a result of being shot with live ammunition in the thigh" and transferred him to the hospital.

The Israeli army did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the incident.

Since January 21, 2025, Israeli forces have been carrying out large-scale military operations in the northern West Bank in the Jenin and Tulkarm camps. The operation was named 'Iron Wall.' The Israeli operation has led to the displacement of approximately 40,000 Palestinians, according to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
