Recep Tayyip Erdogan Health Sciences College in Somalia Holds Graduation Ceremony for New Cohort
Somali and Turkish officials reaffirm strong bilateral ties during graduation ceremony in Mogadishu

Recep Tayyip Erdogan Health Sciences College celebrated the graduation of a new cohort of students on Wednesday in the Somali capital Mogadishu, during a ceremony held on the university campus.
The ceremony was attended by Somali Minister of Health and Human Services Ali Haji Adam, Minister of Culture and Tourism Abdul Fatah Qasim Mahmoud, officials from the Turkish Embassy in Mogadishu, Commander of the Turkish Task Force in Somalia Sabahattin Kalkan, along with representatives from civil society organizations from Turkey and Somalia, academics, students, and parents.
The Dean of the College, Professor Rashid Kundogdu, said in a speech during the ceremony: "You are graduating today, and tomorrow you will work across the country in the health sector, performing your duties in the best way. But the place you will always return to will be your first home, Recep Tayyip Erdogan Health Sciences College in Mogadishu."
For his part, Health Minister Haji Adam said that relations between Turkey and Somalia are growing stronger day by day.
He affirmed that the Somali people will never forget the support and brotherhood that Turkey and its people have provided to his country.
The minister indicated that cooperation between the two countries will develop even further in the future.
He added: "When we invest our resources with the support of our Turkish brothers, we will become, God willing, two countries that cooperate on global issues in the economic and military fields."
Student Kadra Abdul Aziz Noor, who graduated top of her class, told Anadolu in Turkish that her graduation day is one of the most special and proud days of her life.
She added: "First, I thank God, then I thank my family, my teachers, and my classmates. From now on, I look forward to serving my country and contributing useful work in the field of disaster management."
Additionally, a number of students, who alongside their studies at the college took lessons in playing the ney flute, performed musical pieces accompanied by their teachers during the graduation ceremony.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates of success and a number of awards to the graduates.
