The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Libyan Government of National Unity expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of an Israeli official's storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The ministry affirmed in a statement - according to the Libyan News Agency yesterday - its absolute rejection of these blatant actions that affect the sanctity and holiness of Al-Aqsa Mosque, considering it a flagrant violation of Islamic sanctities and an undermining of the legal and moral status of these sanctities. It stressed that these provocative acts constitute an international crime that requires urgent accountability of its perpetrators, calling on the international community to assume its legal and humanitarian responsibilities and the need to take urgent and effective steps to stop these repeated violations.

Libya renewed its firm and supportive stance on the rights of the Palestinian people, the protection of their religious sanctities, and their legitimate right to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
