New York City Mayor Zahran Mamdani said in a new video Tuesday that he does not have the legal authority to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should he come to New York City.

Mamdani said in a video posted on platform X: 'My administration has reviewed all available avenues under current law to determine whether New York City can enforce the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court should Benjamin Netanyahu come here. It is clear that we do not have the independent legal authority to enforce this warrant. However, the federal government has that authority, and I call on it to join the International Criminal Court and enforce the warrant.'

This video comes just days after Mamdani told the New York Times that he was working with his administration's legal team on how to carry out Netanyahu's arrest on charges of 'alleged war crimes,' according to CNN.
