The US Army denied Iranian accusations of targeting civilian infrastructure during the recent raids on Iran, stressing that its operations focused on facilities used by the Revolutionary Guard to threaten regional navigation, after Iranian media reported that US strikes hit electricity and water desalination plants, bridges, and roads in the south of the country. This dispute comes as the US air campaign enters its seventh consecutive night, with increasing disagreement between Washington and Tehran over the nature of the targets inside Iranian territory, and whether they are limited to military installations or extended to vital facilities providing civilian services.

The US Army said that reports of targeting civilian infrastructure are 'incorrect,' confirming that the strikes targeted facilities used by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in operations targeting navigation in the Gulf.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) had also announced that its recent raids targeted surveillance sites, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage facilities, and naval capabilities, using fighter jets, drones, and warships.
