Iran's Foreign Minister and Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff Discuss Latest Developments in the Region
Amid rising tensions between the United States and Iran

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi discussed the latest regional developments with Pakistani Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, who is mediating negotiations between Tehran and Washington, amid rising tensions between the United States and Iran.
A statement from Iran's Foreign Ministry on Thursday said that Araghchi had a telephone conversation with the Pakistani chief of army staff.
Araghchi "strongly condemned" the US attacks that targeted various areas in Iran.
He described the US attacks as a "flagrant violation" of the United Nations Charter and the memorandum of understanding reached between the United States and Iran for a ceasefire.
Araghchi pointed to statements by US officials regarding the memorandum, describing them as a "clear indication of the violation of the agreement and Washington's continued war-mongering policy."
He affirmed the determination of the Iranian people and armed forces to defend the country's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security.
On Wednesday evening, US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced a series of attacks on Iran, a day after launching similar strikes in response to attacks targeting three commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
The UK Maritime Trade Operations reported that three oil tankers were attacked while crossing the strait, causing minor damage, without disclosing their nationalities.
The Strait of Hormuz region witnesses periodic security tensions against the backdrop of the war launched by the United States and Israel on Iran on February 28.
On June 18, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding and continue difficult negotiations to reach a final agreement, with mediation by Pakistan and Qatar.
