The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the decision of the Belgian government to ban the import of products from illegal Israeli settlements established in the occupied Palestinian territories, including Jerusalem, taken by the Belgian Federal Council of Ministers, as an advanced step consistent with the rules of international law.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry affirmed that this decision reflects the commitment of the Kingdom of Belgium and its government to the principles of international justice and respect for international law, and is consistent with the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice regarding the illegality of the Israeli occupation of the occupied Palestinian territory, including Jerusalem.
