A Palestinian body announced on Sunday that Israel plans to build 342 settlement units on lands in the Salfit governorate, northern occupied West Bank.
The Commission for Resisting the Wall and Settlements, affiliated with the Palestine Liberation Organization, stated that the 'Israel Land Authority' (governmental) has issued a new tender to implement a 'settlement project in the Ariel settlement, built on lands of the Salfit governorate, with the aim of constructing 342 settlement units'.
It added that the project is multi-story construction, and that the Israeli authorities had approved it on May 25, 2025, but it did not specify the date of the tender, which remains open until August 31, next.
The Palestinian body commented on the project, saying it reflects the continued shift of the Israeli government from the stage of approving settlement plans to the stage of practical implementation through issuing tenders.
