At least 11 people have been killed and eight others injured, four of them in serious condition, in a forest fire that broke out near the city of Almería in the Andalusia region of southern Spain.
Regional authorities said the fire had spread over an estimated area of 3,150 hectares.

Meanwhile, at least 19 people remain missing as search operations for possible victims continue.

Authorities evacuated about 50 people to a shelter and closed a number of roads affected by the fire. This comes as the Military Emergency Unit joined efforts to extinguish the flames and control their spread.
