U.S. President Donald Trump warned Friday of what he described as a new threat to the country's identity from 'bigots and extremists' within the nation, in a speech delivered at Mount Rushmore on the eve of the 250th anniversary of American independence.

Trump said in his speech, 'As we approach this great anniversary, we see our American identity under renewed attack,' adding, 'A generation after waging and winning the Cold War against the threat of communism, there is now a return of the communist threat on our soil.'
