Trump: Iran Was on the Verge of Giving Up Everything Before Latest Escalation
US President Donald Trump confirmed on Sunday that the United States carried out a "very powerful strike" against Iran last night, in response to the attacks launched by Tehran on ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
In telephone remarks to CNN, Trump said that the US and Iran were on the verge of reaching an agreement on Saturday.

He added that Tehran was "about to give up everything," before it targeted a ship with a drone just two hours later. Commenting: "These people are suffering from some dysfunction."

The US Central Command confirmed on Sunday that navigation traffic is proceeding normally through the Strait of Hormuz, despite Tehran earlier declaring the closure of the strategic waterway amid a new exchange of strikes with Washington.
