Trump Threatens to Bomb Iranian Facilities for Each Attack in 'Hormuz'
US President Donald Trump threatened on Wednesday to bomb a bridge or a power plant inside Iran each time Iranian forces target a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, in a new escalation of US threats amid disrupted navigation and a widening confrontation over control of the vital maritime passage.
Trump said in a post on his platform Truth Social: 'From this moment on, every time the Islamic Republic of Iran fires on a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, whether with a missile, a shell, a drone, or any other tool or weapon, the United States will bomb and destroy one bridge or one power plant, including facilities located near Tehran or inside the capital.'
The Revolutionary Guards had announced that their operations in the strait would continue against ships that they say are trying to cross in violation of the arrangements imposed by Tehran.
The United States insists that Iran does not have the right to control the international passage or impose fees and unilateral conditions on ship movement, while Tehran says its measures aim to regulate navigation and ensure safe transit amid ongoing US military operations.
