Ankara / Anadolu
The Turkish Directorate General of Foundations announced on Tuesday that it sent the first batch of aid to Hatay province, intended for families living in camps in the 'Euphrates Shield' operation area in northern Syria.
The Turkish Directorate of Foundations stated in a statement that the first batch includes 2,000 food parcels out of 30,000 parcels that will be sent to Syrian families.
It noted that the parcels contain long-lasting basic food items such as flour, tomato paste, sunflower oil, dried beans, pasta, red lentils, noodles, rice, halva tahini, and raisins.
President Erdogan's message
The statement noted that the parcels were accompanied by a message from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, containing expressions of solidarity and support for the Syrian people.
The message read:
"Dear Syrian brothers, Turkey and its people stand by your side today as they did yesterday, and will continue to do so tomorrow. You have begun a new phase in Syria after struggling with all your blood and souls, despite all difficulties.
After the revolution, you have made important progress in a short time on the path of rebuilding Syria, restoring its unity and cohesion, and its integration with the world. We in Turkey have always supported this wonderful progress.
As we have always emphasized, we have been together and neighbors for a thousand years, and God willing, we will remain here until the Day of Judgment, and we will continue to live together.
The ability of all components of the Syrian people to look to the future with confidence can only be achieved through a shared vision of history and the future.
Just as we did not leave you alone in your struggle for freedom and justice, as your neighbors and brothers, we will continue, God willing, to support you with all our capabilities in the development process as well.
We will stand side by side, overcome difficulties and obstacles together with God's help, and together we will build the future Syria, happy, prosperous, and full of peace.
Today is better than yesterday, and God willing, your coming days will be much more beautiful. I ask God to protect you, and I hope you accept this gift from the Directorate General of Foundations, which preserves the trust of our ancestors."
