Turkish mosques commemorated on Wednesday the anniversary of the martyrs of the failed coup attempt that took place in Turkey on the night of July 15, 2016.
An Anadolu reporter stated that all mosques across the country performed the adhan and recited prayers and supplications with broad public participation.
The events were held in mosques across Turkey, especially in Istanbul, including the Grand Hagia Sophia Mosque, Sultan Ahmed Mosque, Fatih Mosque, Süleymaniye Mosque, Taksim Mosque, and Büyük Çamlıca Mosque.
During these events, verses from the Holy Quran were recited, and religious hymns were sung for the martyrs of July 15.
Turkey commemorates every year on July 15 the anniversary of the failed coup attempt witnessed in 2016, which resulted in the martyrdom of 253 people and injuries to more than two thousand others, while Ankara accuses the 'Gülen' organization of being behind it.
