Scientists have discovered a new species of monkey named 'Colobus congomensis' in the forests of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Although first observed in 2008, it was only recently confirmed as a distinct species after genetic, acoustic, and photographic analyses.
This monkey, locally known as 'Likuil,' lives high in the trees within the Lomami National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
