Yemeni government welcomes Jordan's initiative to resume flights between Sanaa and Amman

The Yemeni government welcomed the humanitarian initiative launched by the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to resume flights between Sanaa and Amman, stemming from its fraternal keenness to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

The Yemeni government expressed its deep appreciation for Jordan's steadfast position alongside Yemen over the past decades, and for the notable humanitarian and political contributions made by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, which reflect the depth of fraternal relations between the two countries and peoples, and its constant concern for Yemen's security, stability, unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

The Yemeni government affirmed its full commitment to providing all necessary facilities to ensure the success of this initiative, based on its responsibility towards citizens and its belief that protecting the interests of Yemenis and alleviating their suffering is a supreme national priority, inseparable from its constitutional duty to preserve national sovereignty.

The Yemeni government also stressed that this initiative is fully consistent with initiatives previously put forward by the Yemeni state to operate Sanaa airport legally and safely through the national carrier, Yemen Airways, to any destination agreed upon, in a way that ensures serving all citizens without discrimination, preserves the country's sovereignty, respects national laws, rules of international law, and the exclusive jurisdiction of the state in managing its airspace and all its airports.

The Yemeni government renewed its affirmation that the terrorist Houthi militia was behind obstructing and aborting all initiatives to operate the national carrier, Yemen Airways, and it is now obligated to cease this destructive approach, release the company's funds and seized assets, ensure the safety of its crews, enable it to perform its duty of transporting all Yemenis, and stop exploiting airports and Yemen's resources to serve militia leaders and their families, or their military and political agendas at the expense of our dear people.

The Yemeni government warned the terrorist Houthi militia against missing this opportunity, continuing the rhetoric of mobilization and incitement, and dragging the Yemeni people into reckless adventures that serve only the Iranian project, instead of engaging in responsible steps that enhance peace opportunities, safeguard citizens' interests, and place them above all considerations.

The government also reaffirmed its commitment to the option of a just and comprehensive peace based on national, regional, and international references, and to continue working with brothers and friends to end the war and restore state institutions, stressing that the state will remain able to combine firmness in protecting its sovereignty with responsibility in fulfilling its humanitarian obligations towards all Yemeni people, and achieving their aspirations for security, stability, and development.

It affirmed that the armed forces and security will remain in a state of full readiness, prepared to deal with any escalation by the terrorist Houthi militias, deter any threat targeting the country's sovereignty, security, or stability, and deal firmly with any attempts to impose a fait accompli by force.
