Ahmed El Sakka: 'Khalik Balak Min Nafsik' Blends Romance with Action
Actor Ahmed El Sakka said that his film 'Khalik Balak Min Nafsik' represents a different experience in his career, combining action, comedy, and romance, stressing that the action scenes in the film differ in nature from what he has presented in his previous works, and that the audience will see a new form of action linked to the nature of the characters and events.
The film also stars Yasmine Abdel Aziz, Lolba, Mohamed Radwan, and Michel Milad, along with a number of guest stars. The film is produced by Tamer Mursi, written by Sherif Al-Laithi, and directed by Moataz Al-Toni.
El Sakka explained, in statements to 'Al-Sharq', that the film reunites him with actress Yasmine Abdel Aziz after more than two decades, noting that they share a strong friendship and have repeatedly discussed the idea of doing a joint project until the film's script came along, giving them the motivation to execute the project, marking their first artistic collaboration since starring together in the play 'Keda Ok' in 2003.
He added that the film does not rely on the traditional action he is known for, explaining that his previous works were characterized by violence and boldness, while 'Khalik Balak Min Nafsik' offers a different treatment that blends action with comedy and romance, giving the audience a new experience and surprises in terms of characters and events.
He pointed out that the filming atmosphere was marked by a spirit of cooperation and witnessed many humane and comedic situations among the crew, stressing that all participants were keen to present a work that stands out.
El Sakka affirmed that he pays great attention to audience opinions, considering that the relationship between an artist and his audience is based on mutual trust, noting that this trust is reflected in the turnout for cinematic works, which makes him keep viewers' expectations in mind when choosing his projects.
Box Office
He opined that competition at the box office benefits both the audience and the film industry alike, because it pushes filmmakers to constantly develop their work and produce higher quality productions.
El Sakka revealed that he plays the role of a radio presenter in the film, noting that it differs from the characters he has played before, and that he did not base it on any specific media personality, but rather relied on his reading of the script and his artistic reservoir to shape the role's features.
He explained that his main criterion in choosing projects is the quality of the project itself, not the experience of its writer or director, noting that he has previously collaborated with writers and directors in their first attempts, whether in cinema or television drama.
He added that his absence from television drama last year was to take a break, stressing that his return is not tied to the Ramadan season, but rather to choosing a project he deems suitable, whether it airs during the season or outside of it.
El Sakka emphasized that the success of any film is a gain for the industry as a whole, because it contributes to the emergence of new stars and encourages producers to increase investment in film production, which in turn reflects on the continued growth of the market.
The events of 'Khalik Balak Min Nafsik' revolve around a framework that combines excitement, adventures, and comedic situations, about a radio show host who gives romantic advice, before his life is turned upside down after a strong and independent woman, who works as an arms dealer, enters his life, becoming his partner in a series of unexpected confrontations and events.
Regarding his new cinematic project 'Hiroshima', El Sakka revealed that he is preparing to resume filming soon, explaining that the film addresses the issue of the misuse of technology and its negative impact on human relationships, through a treatment that combines action and mystery.
Starring in 'Hiroshima' are a number of artists, including Mai Omar, Bassem Samra, Sherine Reda, Hanan Mutawa, Bayoumi Fouad, Mohamed Tharwat, Hoda Al-Atribi, Emad Safwat, Mohamed Lotfi, Alaa Morsi, and Haitham Zaidan. The film is written by Ayman Bahgat Kamar and directed by Ahmed Nader Galal.
