New Jeddah Mayor: Priority is to Develop Municipal Services and Field Work

Ihsan Bafaqeeh, the new mayor of Jeddah, told Al-Eqtisadiah that developing municipal services in the coastal city, enhancing field work, serving the city's residents, and improving their quality of life will be his top priorities.
A royal order was issued yesterday appointing Ihsan bin Abbas Bafaqeeh as Mayor of Jeddah province at the excellent rank, succeeding Saleh Al-Turki, who held the position from August 2018 until April 2026.
Bafaqeeh, born in Jeddah in 1393 AH, previously held the position of Governor of the General Authority for State Properties at the excellent rank, and also served as CEO of Mohammed Al-Subaie (MASK) for Logistic Services.
He also served as Chief Financial Officer of the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones, and holds a Bachelor of Science from Westminster College in Salt Lake City, United States.
He added that the royal confidence in his appointment represents a responsibility to continue serving Jeddah province, keeping pace with aspirations and enhancing the city's development trajectory.
According to Bafaqeeh, the next phase will focus on completing achievements and building upon them, along with developing performance to ensure sustainable development and improvement of municipal services, noting that enhancing integration between the municipality's sectors and partner entities is a pillar for raising performance efficiency, accelerating achievement, and meeting targets.
He said: Jeddah is witnessing a developmental phase that includes implementing major projects, which requires continuing work at a high pace, enhancing the city's readiness, and keeping up with its urban and economic growth.
