Data from the General Authority for Statistics revealed varying increases in vegetable prices in Saudi Arabia during June 2026 compared to the previous month, with prices of 13 vegetable varieties rising, while only 4 varieties declined, and the rest remained at previous levels without significant change.

Tomatoes Top the Rise in Vegetable Prices in Saudi Arabia

According to the average prices bulletin for goods and services, local markets recorded an exceptional jump in local tomato prices with a 40.6% increase, reaching SAR 8.10 per kilogram compared to SAR 5.80 in the previous month. This rise was accompanied by a parallel increase in imported tomato prices by 24.1%, reaching SAR 7.90 per kilogram compared to SAR 6.40 in May.

The price of local green bell peppers rose by 16.9% to SAR 8.90, and green beans by 16.7% to SAR 13.80 compared to SAR 11.80 in the previous month.

In the same context, the price of local round onions rose 12.5% to SAR 3.90, followed by local hot green peppers with an increase of 11%, recording SAR 9.40 per kilogram. Prices of local medium potatoes increased by 10.4% to SAR 4.30, white cabbage increased by 9.6% to SAR 3.60, and imported round onions by 7.9% to SAR 4.80 per kilogram. According to statistics data, local lettuce rose by 5.6% to SAR 6.60 in June, followed by butternut squash with a monthly increase of 3.5% to SAR 6.30, then local cucumbers by 2.9% to settle at SAR 5.30 per kilogram. The price of local black eggplant saw a slight increase of 2% to SAR 5.50, followed by local carrots with a 1.1% increase to SAR 6.20, while spinach recorded a slight increase of 0.8% to SAR 1.30 per bunch, and lentils remained stable at SAR 9.50.

Vegetable Prices.. Stability and Decline of Some Varieties

Local arugula maintained its price at just SAR 1 per bunch, and local tomato sauce (135g) remained at SAR 2 per pack. Meanwhile, Spanish black olives stayed at SAR 25.80 per kilogram, and sweet corn (340g) at SAR 6.20. The price of canned fava beans (California Gardens, 150g) decreased by 1.1% to SAR 4.70, and local mallow decreased by 3.3% to settle at SAR 2.60 per bunch. The price of local okra fell by 4.3% to SAR 17.10 per kilogram compared to SAR 17.80 in the previous month, followed by a decline in local zucchini by 4.8% to SAR 6.70 compared to SAR 7.00 in the previous month. Chinese garlic was the most declined vegetable, falling by 6.8% to SAR 12.60 in June compared to SAR 13.50 in May.
