Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry, Nidal al-Shaar, issued a circular stipulating the unification of work mechanisms across all company departments and commercial registry secretariats in Syrian governorates, aiming to simplify incorporation and registration procedures.
According to the circular, company departments and commercial registry secretariats are required to register the company, issue its incorporation and registration decisions, and grant it the commercial registry for the first time immediately upon submission of the basic documents, and not to suspend the commercial registry due to financial transactions.
The circular stressed that granting the commercial registry should not be contingent on the necessary approvals and licenses for practicing commercial activity, except for activities related to the Ministries of Interior, Defense, and Energy, in addition to activities subject to the supervision and oversight of relevant regulatory and supervisory bodies, including banks, currency exchange, money transfers, insurance, insurance brokerage, medical expenses, real estate development, real estate appraisal, real estate financing, and protection and guarding, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
The circular stipulated granting concerned parties a grace period until the renewal of the commercial registry to complete all procedures at the Ministry of Finance and its affiliated entities or any other government entity, with the burden of following up on these procedures falling on the relevant ministry.
During the current month, the General Administration of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection at the Ministry of Economy and Industry launched a service for establishing companies of all types through the administration's electronic portal, as part of implementing the digital transformation program and automating government work.
