Riyadh Air has expanded its orders from Boeing and Airbus, a move that strengthens the national carrier's plans to build a modern fleet that supports its global expansion and enhances its operational capacity in preparation for connecting the Saudi capital to more than 100 destinations worldwide by 2030.

The company announced, on the sidelines of the Farnborough International Airshow, the confirmation of an order for an additional 28 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, bringing the total confirmed orders for this model from 39 to 67 aircraft. The agreement also includes the addition of the Boeing 787-10, the latest model in the Dreamliner family.

The company also revealed an expansion of its Airbus A350-1000 order by adding 6 new aircraft, bringing the total confirmed orders for this model to 31 aircraft. The company's total orders from Airbus reach 91 aircraft, including A350-1000 and A321neo aircraft.

This step is part of Riyadh Air's strategy to operate a modern fleet that supports future growth and aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to transform the Kingdom into a global aviation and logistics hub and enhance Riyadh's position as a major center for international travel.

For his part, the Chief Financial Officer of Riyadh Air, Adam Boukadida, said that expanding the order for A350-1000 aircraft reflects the company's confidence in its long-term strategy and commitment to building a global carrier that connects the Kingdom with the world, noting that the aircraft features high operational efficiency, long range, and an advanced travel experience, which supports international expansion plans and provides advanced levels of innovation, comfort, and Saudi hospitality on board.

For his part, the Executive Vice President of Commercial Aircraft Sales at Airbus, Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, confirmed that expanding the partnership with Riyadh Air reflects confidence in the capabilities of the A350-1000, which is one of the most advanced aircraft in the world due to its long operational range, economic efficiency, and spacious cabin. He added that the carrier's decision to exercise purchase rights for more of this model supports its plans to build a modern fleet that aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and contributes to enhancing the Kingdom's position as a global aviation hub.

The announcement comes as part of Riyadh Air's strategy to expand its international network, following the launch of its first scheduled commercial flights between Riyadh and London Heathrow in June 2026. The carrier currently operates flights to six destinations including London, Cairo, Dubai, Jeddah, Málaga, and Madrid, and has opened bookings for new flights to Manchester, Dhaka, Kuala Lumpur, and Mumbai, with plans to announce additional destinations in the coming period.

Since its launch, Riyadh Air continues to implement a strategy based on building one of the newest aircraft fleets in the world, by operating the latest and most efficient generations of aircraft, which enhances the passenger experience and supports the carrier's sustainable growth, towards its target of connecting the Saudi capital to more than 100 destinations worldwide by 2030.
