Riyadh Air activated on Monday purchase rights for six additional Airbus A350-1000 aircraft during the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, raising its total firm orders for this type to 31. The new national carrier ordered 60 Airbus A321 aircraft, bringing total aircraft ordered from Airbus to 91, while retaining purchase rights for 19 additional aircraft, providing greater flexibility to support its future expansion plans.

The Airbus A350-1000 will form a core pillar of Riyadh Air's long-haul operations, enabling the carrier to connect Riyadh with key destinations in Asia, Europe, Oceania, North America and beyond. This announcement reinforces the company's progress toward building a global network following the launch of its first scheduled commercial flights between Riyadh and London on June 10, using its new fleet, marking a new milestone in the company's long-term strategy to build one of the newest and most efficient fleets in the world.

Riyadh Air's sustainability strategy is based on a long-term agreement with Rolls-Royce for TotalCare services, and the airline is committed to using a fleet powered by 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) by 2030, enhancing its efforts to reduce carbon emissions and support sustainable expansion plans.
